Clonmel Rowing Club rowers were out in force in the blistering heat for the Fermoy Regatta on Sunday 1st July.
This was the final event prior to the rowing season’s grand finale, the Irish Championships, being held at the home of rowing at the National Rowing Centre between 13th and 15th July. This is where the crème de la crème of Irish rowing from all around the country, north and south, set up camp for the three day event. Ireland’s heroes and Olympic silver medalists, Paul and Gary O’Donovan, will be there to compete for Skibbereen.

The Clonmel rowers warmed up for ‘Champs’ with a number of fantastic performances in Fermoy Regatta.
Sean Fahey and Donnacha Keeley had a brilliant row to win the final C of the Men’s Junior 15 double.
Gillian Juleff and Orla Galligan also rowed their hearts out to win the Women’s Junior 15 double.
Sean O’Donnell had another brilliant row to win the Junior 18 scull. Brian Lynch and Jason McKenna won the Men’s Club 2 pair, with a commanding performance and Sandra McGrath, Helen Mhic Chonmara, Nell McCarthy and Branwen Kelly rowed fabulously to win the Women’s quad.
Congrats to all of the above winners and of course to all the other rowers who took part in the Fermoy Regatta. It was yet another great day for Clonmel rowing and a reward for all the dedication and hard work put in during the cold and wet winter months.

Best of luck to all the rowers at ‘Champs’ and we will hopefully bring you news of some more success in two weeks time.
