Our annual summer outing will take place on Saturday, June 30, when our destination will be Salthill. We will be stopping on the way in Bunratty for tea and a spot of shopping if desired, before proceeding to the beautiful Galway Bay Hotel for lunch. Weather permitting we will be able to enjoy the amenities Salthill has to offer. For those not energetic enough for a stroll along the prom, the Galway Bay Hotel is the perfect place to partake of the sea air and relax in the company of friends. We are so looking forward to you travelling with us again this year and, as usual, we will do all we can to ensure your day is an enjoyable one. The fee of €30, which includes tea/scone and lunch, can be paid to any committee member, when you give in your name for the trip.

Again, we thank everyone who supported us throughout the year, through sponsorship, especially from our local Tennis and GAA clubs and local businesses and contributions to our Church Gate collection, which again enables us to heavily subsidise this trip.

Sympathy is extended to Mrs Knightly, Shronell House, on the death of her sister, Rita Mooney, Garnacanty, Tipperary.

U12 football

This has been a fantastic year for the Lattin Cullen U12 footballers having played in this years league against Clonoulty Rossmore, Cappawhite, Sean Treacys, Knockavilla Kickhams, Eire Og Annacarthy, Emly, Rockwell Rovers, Rosegreen, and Cappawhite in the West final. We travelled to Semple Stadium in Thurles on Tuesday, May 29, for the quarter finals and had a great win over Loughmore Castleliney. On June 6 we headed to Templetouhy to the semifinals and played a great match against Clerihan who were deserving winners.

The west final was probably our finest hour with a great performance right to the final whistle when Cappa made a strong comeback in the closing minutes but the boys from Lattin Cullen won the day. For these players the best is yet to come and we sincerely thank them for their hard work and for the joy they brought us so far this summer. There is still a long road ahead and success it is said is ninety per cent perspiration and ten per cent inspiration and our U12 team has given one hundred percent.

Thanks to our supporters and especially to the parents for their commitment and time. Team: Robert Bradshaw. Niall Carew. Timothy Corcoran. Danny Cunningham (Capt). Jack Cunningham. Katie Cunningham.
