Heartiest congratulations to our friend and neighbour Martina Goff who celebrated a significant birthday recently. Martina celebrated the event with husband John and family and friends with a wonderfully planned get-together at their house. Happy Birthday, Martina!
Congratulations to Eamonn Maher and his wife Mairead on the birth of their baby son, Eoghan. A son for Eamonn and Mairead, a brother for the three girls, and a new grandchild for Eddie and Leish Maher of Skeheenarinky.
Congratulations to all those students from the area who received their Leaving Cert Results in the past few days. Best wishes for your future plans whatever they may be!
How fortunate we are to have a hospital in this area where people can recuperate and convalesce. The hospital in question is of course, St. Teresa’s, Clogheen. We send greetings to those patients who are from the Skeheenarinky area presently in the hospital and indeed to all the patients and staff.
We are glad to hear that John Cunningham of the Caves Road is resting comfortably and enjoying his visitors. Continued good wishes to Nell Curtin who is recuperating there, and best wishes to Mary Kearney of the Black Road who is in Clonmel Hospital but expects to be in Clogheen before long.
The service and standard of care at Clogheen is tremendous and greatly appreciated by this community.

Sincere condolences are offered to Tracy Cassidy and her partner Michael Duggan and all Tracy’s family on the recent passing of her father, Maurice, at his home in Scotland. Maurice was a frequent visitor to Tracy and Michael’s home in Skeheenarinky. May he rest in peace. Our thoughts are with Tracy at this sad time.
It is always great to be able to announce new businesses in the area and this week we are delighted to give mention to the new Galtee Clinic at Cooladerry and Kiltankin, Ballyporeen. From their website ‘galteeclinic.ie’ we glean the following: “The Galtee Clinic is committed to an evidence based approach to working with children in care. In pursuit of this goal we have a highly qualified and experienced multidisciplinary team that works, in concert, to create a safe and secure setting for young people to live in whilst they participate in the programmes on offer throughout the service.” The directors are Dr. Toby Haslam-Hopwood and Natasha Haslam-Hopwood. We wish them well in their exciting and important venture.
