The Junior Hurling team had to give best to a physically stronger St Kieran’s side from Limerick in the Munster Quarter Final in the gaelic grounds. Unfortunately we sustained further injuries this time to Senan O’Halloran and Naoise O’Cuinneagain and we wish both players a speedy recovery. The Club and players would like to thank everyone who travelled to support the team, to our sponsors for the lovely hoodies and to Tony Gleeson for providing a lovely meal on their return from Limerick. The team can now fully focus on the County Final, date of which is not yet confirmed. We wish them well with their preparations as they strive to win the Club’s first Adult County Hurling Title. We appeal to as many as possible to go along to lend your vocal support to encourage the team to achieve honours.
Congratulations to Eamon and Mary O’Driscoll, Kilheffernan, who won €500 in the November County Draw.
We extend our sympathy to the family of the late Paddy Kearney formerly of Priorstown who died during the week. Paddy played hurling for Kilsheelan in his youth.
Hard luck on the High School Senior Football team who were beaten by West Limerick recently. Best of luck to their Harty Cup team who will play their third game in the series against De La Salle next Thursday.
KILLURNEY SPORTS &
The annual Bring and Buy Sale will take now place on Sunday, November 25, due to Kilsheelan playing in County Hurling Final on Sunday. As this is our main fundraiser for the year to cover running expenses including fuel, insurance, light and general maintenance we are relying on your support. This is your opportunity to keep the Hall a vibrant cog in our community. We will have a wide range of household goods, home baking, seasonal items, toys etc. We look forward to your company and you are sure to pick up a bargain.
Rosary for Burnchurch Old Cemetery will be recited in Kilsheelan before 12 noon Mass next Sunday (Nov18).
We are teaching the children all about the “gift of giving”. For the month of November we are looking for families to donate items from their homes that they do not use or need. We will then make a donation to the St Vincent de Paul, who will make sure it is given to families who really need it this Christmas. Good quality toys, books, clothes, bed linen, unwanted gifts and household items. All donations accepted. No rubbish please as this is going straight to the people who need it. Last day for drop off: Friday, November 30.
