Winners of the Progressive 25 at Rathkeevin Hall on Thursday, March 10 - Sharing First on 12 games: Jim Whelan and Michael Prendergast; Kate Hallinan and Nora Lee. Sharing second and third on 10 games: Nora O’Donnell and Alice McCarthy; John O’Donovan and Dick Lonergan.

A traditional music session for all the family, organised by Powerstown Lisronagh Comhaltas, will be held in Phelan’s Halfway Bar, Rathronan, this Sunday, March 20, from 4pm to 7pm. Musicians and singers of all ages and standards very welcome. Those of more limited experience will begin playing at 4pm.

Lisronagh NS

Lisronagh N.S. will host an Open Morning on Saturday, March 26, from 11am to 12noon. Infants enrolled for September 2011 and their parents, along with any prospective parents/future entrants and their parents,are invited to come and visit the school on that morning, meet with the staff, and view the modern school facilities.


Congratulations to Andrew and Annette Butler, Beechgrove, whose child Emily Lucia was baptised in Powerstown church on Sunday last.


Congratulations to Paul McCarthy and Grainne Ryan who were married in Powerstown church on Friday last. We wish the couple a long and happy life together.

St Patrick’s Day

Mass on Wednesday evening in Powerstown at 6.15pm. Mass on Thursday morning in Powerstown at 10.45am. Mass on Thursday morning in Lisronagh at 12.


Congratulations to the 60 boys and girls from the three schools, Powerstown, Lisronagh and Rathkeevin who were confirmed by Bishop Lee during the week. Much credit goes to the three teachers Diarmuid Burke, Michael Ryan and Eimear Howley for preparing two beautiful ceremonies. Great credit also goes to the two school choirs of Powerstown and Rathkeevin who enriched the ceremonies with their wonderful singing. Fergus Flynn, Elisabeth English and Eimear Howley are to commended. The young musicians from Rathkeevin school also impressed greatly. Thanks to organists Gwen Noonan and Eimear Howleys.

Parkinsons Association

The Parkinson’s Association is hosting a Patient Information Update on Thursday, March 24, in the Clonmel Park Hotel, from 11am to 2.30pm.
