It is with deep regret that we record the passing of Michael Hyland, Knockperry, Newcastle, which occurred at STGH on Wednesday, March 20. He was a most pleasant, honest, well natured man whose only aim in life was the welfare of his wife and family. An experienced welder he was well known over a wide area to many people who came to his Forge. He was the last blacksmith in the local area. An outdoor person he took a most active part in the Vintage Club which he was President, and had many fund raising outings with them. He was also a member of the farming community and was actively involved up to recently. To his wife Mary, son Michael, daughters Yvonne and Susan, grandchildren, sons and daughters in law, sister Mary, nephew nieces and many relatives we extend our deepest sympathies. On Friday evening remains were removed from Condon’s funeral home, Clonmel, to St Mary’s Church, Newcastle. Following requiem Mass on Saturday burial took place in the Old Cemetery Newcastle.
