Our U14 girls bowed out of their camogie championship at the quarter final stage in a thrilling game played last Tuesday night in Ballylooby against Ballingarry. Both teams were evenly matched but try as we may we could not get the scores in the final 10 min even though Brian Borus had all the play. There were some tremendous blocks and hooks by our heroic backs of Norma Kennedy, Caomihe Ready, Michelle O’Halloran, Laura Morrissey and Linda Murphy and some fantastic saves by our goalkeeper Michaela Rossittor while midfield Fiona Burke and Ciara Hickey kept their eye on the ball at all times and ran the length of the pitch sending some great balls into our forwards made up of Shona Lange, Jane Hyland Caomihe Ryan and Helena Walsh. Subs on the night: Z Lynch, Andre Conway, Rosin Murray and Shannon Brennan.

The Fashion Show which the club ran last Thursday night was a huge success. Thanks to all the boutiques; to our beautiful models and to Helen Quirke who was MC on the night. Thanks also to - Clogheen Community Council, Burncourt Community Council, John Noonan, Mattie Maher, Ger Flynn, Paul and Anthony Mullins, Richie O’Sullivan, Anne O’Brien, Margaret English, Cahir Carpets, Cathy and Patsy McGrath and anyone who helped in any way. A special word of thanks to Nora Quane who spearheaded the whole event. Copies of the photos of the show can be got from Tony O‘Brien at 087 6857243.

Hard luck to our u12 team who were defeated by Aherlow last Friday. It was their first game of the championship and the team showed they have great potential.
