Congratulations to Mary Griffen, Lios Mhuire, Clogheen, who celebrated a significant birthday recently. We wish Mary every good wish for the future.

A wonderful evening took place at the Hermitage House Clogheen with the launch of the book “Lonely Little Gods Acre” written by our own Ed O’Riordan. Traditional Irish music greeted a packed house, with a cheese and wine reception hosted by Breda and Declan Brennan. Rose Cleary Mulcahy spoke very warmly about Shanrahan Cemetry and the history that surrounds it, and said the book was a credit to Ed and Carol and all involved in getting the book published. Ed thanked everyone for coming to the launch and gave an outline of his time researching and writing the book. Finally everyone were treated to beautiful music from Pat Tracey and Michael Dunlea in the Bar afterwards.

The book is for sale in P.J. And Margaret Englishs Fruit and Veg Shop Clogheen or phone 0877984929, for hardback €20 and soft back €12.

A big thank you from Bridie Keating, Cooldevane, Clogheen, to her many good and generous neighbours and friends for their very kind offers of Christmas hospitality which was very much appreciated. Thank you all.
