Alzheimer’s Tea/Coffee morning

Alzheimer’s Tea/Coffee morning will take place on Thursday, May 22 from 10am to 12 noon in St. Vincent’s Day Care Centre, Tipperary Town.

Tipperary & District Flower & Garden Club

The monthly meeting of Tipperary and District Flower and Garden Club will take place on Monday, May 27 in the Assembly Hall St. Anne’s Secondary School at 8pm. Our demonstrator for the evening is Bertranda. Delaney AOIFA from Thurles. Bertranda is well known to our members and a familiar name in local flower competitions.

A sales table of plants and accessories will be there on the evening, a great opportunity to find a bargain. Do come along and bring a friend and enjoy the evening.

The Junior Flower Club will meet on Thursday, May 23 in the Art Room of St. Anne’s Secondary School 7.30 to 8.30pm where the young members will learn how to create “May Magic” in flowers.

TRYS – European Youth Week Events

As part of the European Youth Week taking place from May 26 to June 2, 2013, the TRYS is running a European Voluntary Service (EVS) info session on Wednesday, May 29 from 2 to 3pm in the TRYS information office, Tipperary Town. The (EVS) Info sessions: will offer young people an opportunity to find out how they could get involved; tell them about the application processes and potential opportunities available.

European Soapbox: Tipperary Regional Youth Service will be running a soapbox competition on the theme “Irish young people are active Europeans” the event will take place on Thursday, May 30, if you are interested please contact Tipperary Regional Youth Service for an application form no later than May 22.

Glen of Aherlow Walking Festival 2013

The Glen of Aherlow Walking Festival 2013 takes place over the June Bank Holiday weekend from May 31 to June 2, 2013. Organised by the Glen of Aherlow Fáilte Society and the Galtee Walking Club this is one of Irelands leading walking festivals. Recently nominated in the Irish Times 25 Best Places to Holiday in Ireland, the Glen of Aherlow, Tipperary enjoy graded walks led by experienced guides from the Galtee Walking Club.

A and B Walks will take you on the high Galtees while C walks for the casual walker will follow the national Loops on Slievenamuck or the lower Galtees, giving the opportunity to enjoy the heritage and culture of the Glen.
