Before breaking for their summer holidays the students of Loreto Secondary School in Clonmel enjoyed their annual sports day.
In keeping with tradition the girls went in fancy dress and their terrific costumes added great colour and fun to an enjoyable day.
However there was also a serious side to the event, as the JPIC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation) group in 5th Year raised funds for the Loreto school in Rumbek in South Sudan. €250 was collected for the African school, as students and teachers took turns in the stocks being pelted with wet sponges, while a cake sale was also held.
More images from the Sports Day appear in this week’s issue of The Nationalist.
