The annual Mayor’s Fund, which collects money for the less well-off in society, was launched last week by Clonmel Mayor, Cllr Pat English.
The fundraising initiative, now in its 93rd year, sets about collecting donations from people, which are then distributed to local charities who see to it that families in need at Christmas are looked after.
“There are many in Clonmel who are struggling to meet the day-to-day needs of their families,” said Mayor English. “As Mayor, I am appealing to the people of Clonmel to support the fund and help make Christmas a bit easier.
Any contribution that can be made will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged,” he said.
Donations can be made to the Mayor’s Fund, Town Hall, Parnell Street. All donations will be welcome.
