Social Tea Dance Christmas Party
Halla na Feile is delighted to announce that a Social Tea Dance ‘Christmas Party Night’ will be held on Friday, December 16, and a warm invitation is extended to you to come along and dance to the music of the great Dave Lalor. Dancing from 9pm to 12am and admission is E8. Refreshments will be served. Looking forward to seeing you and promise you an enjoyable night.
Make a note that we will also be holding our regular Social Tea Dance on Friday, December 30.
Social Dancing Classes continue on Tuesday evenings from 8.30pm to 10.45pm.
Recently launched, the journal is now on sale in local shops or from any committee member - A great stocking filler for Christmas.
The Student Council at St. John the Baptist BNS have recently launched a new enterprise to raise money for a visualiser for the school. A visualiser allows the teacher to show live images on the whiteboard.
The boys are selling quality dry “Christmas Kindling’. Kindling is chopped up pieces of small wood which helps to start a fire easily. It is conveniently packed in green netting and includes two sachets of hot chocolate with each order. The Student Council have worked very hard on this project and we wish them well with their venture. Order forms are available at school for anyone wishing to purchase kindling.
The Student Council members are Murragh McDermott,Eoghan Connolly, Séan Quinlan, Mark Minogue, Kevimn Gayson Molloy, Adam Browne Corbett, Andrew Burke and Conor O’ Dwyer.
Cashel Arts Fest 2011
The 2011 Cashel Arts Fest Committee would like to thank the people of Cashel who supported their local Arts festival this November. By the positive feedback we received, this year’s Fest was deemed a great success. We would like to thank all our volunteers this year for their time and the support of the business owners who helped us in any way to the running of Cashel arts Fest 2011.We also would like to thank all who voted for us for the Cashel Enterprise awards, we received a beautiful commissioned piece of Rossa Pottery as this year’s winners. Many thanks also to our sponsors this year as without their help we could not bring this Festival to life .We are already in the planning stages of Cashel arts Fest 2012 our 10th Anniversary Fest next year.

A sincere thanks is extended to all involved in last Thursday’s very successful Progressive 25 Drive in Rosegreen Community Hall. A special thanks to the organising committee, those who sold and bought tickets, the packed house of card players, (40 tables) the volunteer caterers and Rosegreen Development Committee for kindly making the hall available for the event. The Church Renovation Fund is better off to the tune of €E4,000 as a result of the venture.
The Cathedral will host the Naas Youth Orchestra for a special concert on Friday, December 16, at 8pm. A fundraiser for the Cathedral Roof Fund and bursaries which the orchestra is setting up for talented young musicians.
According to Dean Philip Knowles members of the orchestra have visited the cathedral and loved the acoustics there. Members of the orchestra have performed at the recent Harvest Thanksgiving service in St. Mary’s Church, Dundrum, The concert will include Christmas favourites, pieces from Messiah and other classical works.
There will be a reception before the concert at 7pm. Tickets for the concert are E10 or to attend both the reception and concert E15.
The Annual Ecumenical Christmas Carol Service will be held in the Cathedral, John Street on next Sunday, December 18, at 7pm. The Parish Choir will be joined by choirs from St John the Baptist Boys and Girls Schools, Deanery School and Cashel Community School together with St Patrick’s Brass Band.
