Sincere thank you to all the people who helped and contributed in any way towards the fundraising Sale of Work that took place on Sunday, November 18, in aid of Newcastle Community Youth & Resource Group Tigh na nDaoine.

A special thank you to Mattie McGrath T.D. who was our MC for the day and to all the hardworking ladies who so generously gave their time to making this the success that it was. Your support was greatly appreciated and we hope an enjoyable day was had by all. Go raibh mile maith agaibh.


If anyone would like to become a volunteer in a Youth Club for children aged eight to 12 years of age that we hope to start in Newcastle that would meet once a week, please get in touch with Mandy 0871846393 by text or phoning anytime.


Starting shortly in Tigh na nDaoine, every Wednesday we hope to hold a Mens Group for men of all ages from Newcastle and surrounding areas. The group would get together from 10am to 1pm and would include tea/coffee, chat, game of cards/ rings/ pool and soup and sandwiches before heading home. Also we would have some classes for the group that may consist of gardening, DIY, computers or whatever the men would be interested in doing. April 10, 2013, marks the 90th Anniversary of Liam Lynch’s death. Along with our annual mass and reception in the community hall the committee wish to mark this occasion. We invite ideas and suggestions from the community to help us with this. The AGM of the naionra will be held on Thursday, November 29, at 8pm.


Newcastle GAA club will hold the annual general meeting in the clubrooms on Friday, December 7, at 8pm. The meeting will be preceded with Mass for deceased members in the church as part of the vigil mass at 6.30pm. There will be some light refreshments in the clubrooms prior to the meeting at 7.30pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
