The organisers of the pilgrimage to Knock Shrine on Saturday last wish to thank all those who travelled. Special thanks to bus driver Paddy (Gene Walsh Buses Fethard) who was most helpful, obliging and courteous to the passengers. The pilgrims enjoyed the day and are looking forward to next year.

GAA fundraising Lotto
Many thanks to those who have so generously responded to the recent fundraising letter sent out by the club. The response from the community has been very generous and gratefully appreciated. Anyone still wishing to make a donation can contact any of the officers or committee members.
Tipp minor footballers
Best wishes to the Tipperary minor footballers who play Roscommon in the All Ireland semi-final on Sunday, especially to manager David Power and players Seamus Kennedy and Jason Lonergan, all of whom have Newcastle connections.
Approximately sixty children attended the VHI Cul camp in Newcastle during the past week. A big thank you to all who attended – John Cummins, games promotion officer, and all the coaches including Samantha Lambert, James Logue and Stephen Morgan. The club would also like to thank Joan O’Dwyer, co-ordinator, all the parents who helped out and attended during breaks, and Paudie Sweeney for having all the facilities ready and available. A special word of thanks to Tipperary senior hurler Brendan Maher who presented all the children with their medals as well as taking numerous photos and signing autographs.

ABGN GUN CLUB
The Club’s annual walk across the Knockmealdowns takes place on Sunday, next, August 21st. Participants should meet in Goatenbridge at 11 am. Barbecue at the Glenview Lounge after the walk.
