Congratulations to Mr. Thomas O’ Mahoney B.C.L of 25 St Finnan’s Ave, Ardfinnan youngest son of Carmel and Tim O’ Mahoney, on his recent graduation as a member of the Law Society. The ceremony took place at Blackhall Place, Dublin. Among the guests of honour at Blackhall place were Miriam O’Callaghan of Prime Time. Thomas is now a fully qualified solicitor. Thomas commenced his study of law at the Waterford Institute of Technology where he gained distinctions in both the National Certificate and National Diploma in Legal Studies. He then successfully read for the degree of Bachelor of Civil Law at University College Cork. The final phase his studies took him to the Law Society where he formally trained to become a solicitor. Like all worthwhile endeavours in life, it has been a long journey for Thomas. But, he showed great tenacity and determination along the way. We wish him much professional success and personal happiness in the years ahead.

Best wishes to all the boys and girls of second class who will make their first holy communion on Saturday, May 26. Have a lovely day.

Our Under 14s played Carrick Swan on Monday, May 14, in Ardfinnan and were very unlucky not to maintain their perfect record. We had many chances to win this game but on the night our luck was against us. We were beaten on a score of Ardfinnan 1-02, Carrick Swan 1-03.

Also on Monday 14th our under 10s played in the community games in the Grange Community Field and had an excellent win over Kilsheelan. The final score was Ardfinnan 3-03 Kilsheelan 1-06. This means that our lads have qualified for the county semi final and will play the winners of Fethard and Ballingarry. Well done to all concerned, keep up the good work. The under 6 Player of the week is Luke Purcell and the under 8 player of the week is Gerry Coffey. Well done Luke and Gerry, keep up the good work. Any new players interested in starting underage football just come along to the new field on Saturday at 11am and join in, you are most welcome.
