FIRST HOLY COMMUNION DAY
Last Saturday, May 19, in New Inn Church, 17 children received Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion. From the boys’ school were Matthew Barry, Kyle Burke, Conor O’Dwyer Fitzgerald, Kevin Keating, Joseph Lawrence, Thomas Marnane, Diarmuid Monaghan, Diarmuid O’Brien and Jason O’Gorman and from the girls’ school were Aoibhe Bergin, Kerri Browne, Sarah Fitzgerald, Ciara Moloney, Eimear O’Brien, Niamh O’Brien, Claire Ryan and Davina Ryan. We wish them well and will be praying for them and their families.

had a very successful Treasure Hunt last Tuesday,May 15, in Rockwell College. Well done to all the participants. First: Ml Kerwick, 2nd: Teresa Shanahan and 3rd: Catherine Leamy. A big thank you to the committee members who provided refreshments afterwards in the NICC. Many thanks to Rockwell College for the use of their premises.
NEW INN FESTIVAL - FAMILY FUN DAY
Sunday, June 3, is the date for this year’s festival. New Inn Festival plans to be a fun day for all ages. It will begin with a fancy dress parade themed “Events of 2012”, groups and individuals are welcome to enter. Side shows, sports, athletics, vintage vehicle display, kiddies corner, pet show, baby show and lots more. Daisy returns for another year, tickets are now on sale. Training with Mary Doyle takes place for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class boys and girls every Monday and Wednesday evening in the G.A.A. pitch from 5pm sharp to 6pm. All children must be collected at 6pm sharp.
Rosary will be recited at Woodenstown Grotto every Friday evening at 7.30 pm for the month of May.

U6 & U8 FOOTBALL BLITZ
Well done to our U6’s who competed at a blitz at Clerihan Fun Day last Sunday, May 13. They won one match and lost one. Team: Cian O’Sullivan, Niamh Perry, Caoimhe Grace, Jack Moloney, Caitlin Clifford, Andrew Gallagher and Lisa Blair. Our U8’s also took part in a blitz, they won 2 games and drew 1. Team: Danny Doherty, Cian O’Brien, Joseph Lawrence, Niamh Ryan, Alyiah McKenna, Cathal McCarthy,Mark O’Grady, Luca Fitzgerald, Sennan McMahon, Eoghan Doyle and Conor Hennessy. Well done to all involved with these young teams especially coach Paul Perry, mentors on the day: Dermot O’Brien, Andy Hennessy, Brendan Ryan and Glen Grace and to the parents who came out to support the teams.
