KILLENAULE MOYGLASS LADIES SOCCER
The team kept their unbeaten run going with another win away to Blackcastle in Templemore last Sunday. The home team got off to a good start with a goal after 10 minutes, but Aoife O’Connor scored with a fantastic free after Katie O’Regan was brought down to tie the game just before half time. The second half was very tense with Roisin Trehy and Eidin Murphy playing great in the backs and Michelle Meagher working all over the field. With 20 mins gone Katie O’Regan crossed the ball and Shauna Hayes controlled it and finished with a winning goal. Aoife O’Connor came close again with another free but the game finished at 2-1 to Killenaule Moyglass.

PRESENTATION SECONDARY SCHOOL
Friday, May 11, 37 second year students from Presentation Secondary Ballingarry, took off on an action packed day as part of their positive behaviour programme.
The students set off early for Castlecomer Discovery Park in Kilkenny. There they got a chance to discover and learn about their coalmining heritage. They were transported back in time over 300 million years to find out how coal was first formed. The expo also explored the local mining history and heritage uncovering the daily lives and working methods of miners and their families. One of the highlights involved the students having the opportunity to crawl along a mine shaft and experience first hand how confined and difficult it was to work in that space. For students whose grandfathers or granduncles worked in the Ballingarry mines this was a particularly poignant experience.
Later in the morning the students got a chance to reconnect with nature and engage in an active learning workshop based on their junior cert science course.
