We extend the sympathy of St. Patricks GAA club to the Meagher family Lismoynan on the recent death of Billy Meagher RIP. Billy was one of the best footballers of his day but work commitments took him away at vital times. His grandson Robert Meagher is a prominent member of present day St. Patrick’s hurling and football teams while granddaughter Jenny had some great days in ladies football and continues her involvement in Australia at present. On arrival in Cloneen Billy’s funeral was met by a guard of honour of past and present players. Due to an oversight the St. Patricks flag was not on Billy’s coffin. We apologise for this error.
