Birthday greetings go to Bess O’Neill, from Ballykiveen, who on Saturday last, October 6, celebrated the big 95 in the presence of all her family who, with grandchildren and her many friends, gathered in Ballykiveen for the very special occasion.

The birthday girl was at mass hail and hearty on Sunday morning. Many more years of health and much happiness Bess, is the sincere wish of all.

Birthday greetings to Anne Genery, Clonganhue, who also celebrated her birthday on October 6.

Jim Connery’s music was just great and during the night there was a minutes silence for late great Larry Cunningham who some time ago graced Cappawhite with his presence.

26 pupils from Cappawhite N.S. participated in the Tipperary Cross Country Athletics held in Thurles on Wednesday, October 3.

Congratulations  to the fifth and sixth class boys’ team, who won the gold medal in their team category. Well done to the team members Jerry Hayes, Brendan Murphy, Gearoid Ryan and Philip Gantley on their success.

Pupils from Cappawhite N.S. have also recently completed a four week safe cycling course.

This course is part of the travelling to school Green Schools programme. This programme has been part sponsored by An Taisce.


Cappawhite Ladies are in the Senior Munster Club Semi Final on Saturday, October 13, where they are playing Ballymacarbry, from Co Waterford. Best of luck to Anacarty Intermediate Camogie team who won the County Semi final on Saturday, October 6, in Littleton.

The very best in of luck in the County Final which will be played in Cahir.


The lovely wedding took place on Saturday, October 29, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, of Orla Ryan T.H. and Robbie Fitzgerald.

The bridemaids were Alice Ryan and Catriona Fitzgerald. Groomsman was John Paul Crowe.  

The reception was held in Dundrum House Hotel and the happy couple are wished health and happiness for a long life together.


People around the parish are currently selling tickets for the Senior Citizens Christmas Party in Dundrum House.

The South Tipperary Hospice would like to thank all who supported their tea and coffee morning, which was held after masses two weeks ago.

The amount raised was €785. Many thanks to all.


The Tipperary Town Group will host an open public meeting in the Social Services Centre, Tipperary (Blind Street entrance, at the rear of the main building) on Thursday, October 11, at 8.30 p.m.

An ALANON speaker will attend this meeting.
