New Inn



are holding a Children’s Christmas Disco this Friday, December 21, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm in New Inn Community Centre. All children are welcome. Entry is €4 per child, €10 for family of three. Parents of under 7s are asked to stay to supervise their children. Children must be collected at front door at 7.30pm sharp. There will be a shop selling sweets and drinks at the disco. Your support would be very much appreciated as we are fundraising for much needed funds for our school.


No Sunday afternoon walk this weekend

Michael Kennedy (ex officio).

As we head into the Christmas period the club would like to thank everyone who helped out in anyway during 2012. We would also like to wish all our many supporters a very happy and peaceful Christmas and looking forward to 2013. A club meeting will be held next Friday, December 21, at 8.30pm in Ballingeary Hall. All members are requested to attend as we are starting preparation for our big weekend in January.


Senior AGM

Our AGM took place last Saturday, December 15. John Cooney, Chairman, welcomed all present to the meeting. John Hally, Secretary presented a very detailed secretary’s report which covered all activities over a very busy season. In his report he thanked Andy Moloney who ran what became known as Andy’s draw for the last 25 years. He also highlighted the success of our Intermediate hurlers and what a great day it was for the club when we won our first ever West Intermediate hurling title. This was a fantastic victory over Sean Treacys to secure the Danny Leahy Cup. Joe Blair, Treasurer, presented the financial report which showed the club funds to be in a solid state after a busy year. He thanked everyone involved with the Lotto draw especially the hardworking lotto committee. John Cooney, Chairman paid tribute to all involved in a very successful season on the playing front. He paid special tribute to President of the Club, Tommy Buckley on winning his Sean Ghael award. He thanked the players, mentors, supporters and all involved in the running of the club. He stressed that this was a voluntary organisation and no one was to be taken for granted. The following officers were elected for the coming year. Development Officer: Kevin Barron, School Liaison Officer: Paul Perry (new), Alcohol/Substance abuse officer: (A.C), Team Managers - Minor football & Hurling: (A.C), U21 football: Eamon Barron and Timmy Ryan, U21 hurling: Donal Moloney, Junior B football: Kieran Durkin and Ml Fahey, Intermediate football: Kevin Halley, Intermediate Hurling: Donal Moloney. Selectors for all these teams will be picked at the Adjourned Convention which is set for Saturday, January 14, at 8pm in the club house – this date is to be confirmed. All outgoing managers were thanked on the night for their work throughout the year as their efforts are very much appreciated and leave the club in a very healthy state.


Hard luck to our U15 players who lost by 5 pts to Clonoutly Rossmore in the U15’s Garda Cup Football Final, in Golden last Saturday. Team: Diarmuid Barron, Cillian English, Sean O’Connell, Craig O’Connell, Conor Walsh, Darragh Campbell, Walter Ryan, Liam Fahey, Owen Cleary, Colm Moloney, Ml Lonergan ,Paul Coffey, Conor Hickey, Evan Doodly, Fergus English and John Burke. Missing : Tom Keating who was out injured. Thanks to the management team of Patrick O’Connor, Kevin Barron and Ml Lonergan.
