Tidy Burial Grounds:

Well done to Grange New Cemetery committee on winning first prize in the Tidy Burial grounds Category one 2011. These burial grounds are an important feature of the historic landscape and contain the remains of our ancestors. Their maintenance is important in providing a key link to local history. Graveyards are an integral part of local heritage. There is a growing awareness amongst communities of the importance of local graveyards. The Council organises this competition in order to acknowledge the role of Graveyard Committees in the preservation and maintenance of local graveyards. The Tidy Burial Grounds competition is a council initiative to reward those communities who voluntarily give their time and effort and who have excelled in the role, encouraging communities involved in improving and maintaining their local areas.

National Tea Day for Alzheimer’s Society:

A ‘Vintage Style’ coffee morning will be held in Grange Community Hall after Mass on Sunday next April 29 as part of National Tea Day in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland. All money raised locally stays local.

Their contribution to the many clubs and societies has been invaluable and they will be terribly missed by all their friends and neighbours. Go n-eiri an mbothar libh!
