Iarnrod Eireann now plan to replace Oola Bridge during the week of August 20 to 26. Road diversions will be in place as will bus transfers for rail passengers. These arrangements will be communicated to road and rail users and other stakeholders in advance via local and national advertisements and announcements. On completion there will be a footpath on both sides at the bridge.


Wish to thank all who helped them in the recent Bag Packing in Tesco’s, the club is on a break but will reopen in September.


This year’s Cul Camp will take place from July 16 to 20.


Monday next, July 9, Mass will be said at Old Pallas Cemetery at 7.30pm. This will also be the blessing of the newly erected Cross and Shrine. All are welcome.



County Semi-final

St.Patricks 1-8, Oola 0-9.

Victory went to St.Patrick’s in this keenly contested match played in Caherconlish on Tuesday evening last. There was very little between the sides in the first half and this was reflected on the score board with both teams on 0-5 each at the break. The second half continued to be a close affair with Oola ahead by a point with four minutes to go on the clock when a high ball was collected by the Oola goal keeper and was cleared out the field but the umpire raised the green flag and the goal was allowed to stand much to the annoyance of the Oola team and mentors.

A last minute goal from James English and a point by Pakie Bourke gave Oola victory over Galbally on Sunday morning last.

U 14 Boys football

Oola 3-6, Pallasgreen 6-8.

Oola performed well against a stronger Pallasgreen team and were only two points behind at half time 3-2 to 2-3. As Oola began to tire in the second half Pallasgreen had more of the play and this was reflected on the scoreboard at the final whistle.
