The Novena to Divine Mercy continues until next Sunday, the Feast of the Divine Mercy. On that day, there will be a special hour’s prayer service celebrating the feast in Galbally Church at 3pm. Also Sunday, May 1 at the 11.30am Mass the Sacrament of the Sick will be administered to those in the Parish suffering from serious illness. Families of these patients are kindly asked to enable them to be present.

Sincere gratitude is extended all those who contributed their time and efforts in preparation for the Holy Week ceremonies. The readers, singers, altar servers, sacristan, those who cleaned the Church and done floral arrangements, and to those who ensured the church cloths and vestments are always immaculate.

Grateful thanks to those who contributed to the offertory collections on a weekly basis and to the collection for the preservation of Holy places taken up on Good Friday. A reminder to return Trocaire boxes as soon as possible.

The county senior football championship is upon us and the local team will play Monaleen in the first fixture. This is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 2 in Hospital at 7pm. On the following Saturday May 7, they will play Pallasgreen in Bruff at 7pm. To achieve good results in these games would be enormous benefit to the team and we wish them well in the County Championship.


The local school boy soccer club will hold a summer fun day on Sunday, July 4. Volunteers to assist in this event would be appreciated. Contact club secretary Bobby Bourke at 086 8305165 for more details.

Fundraiser for playground.

A bingo night in aid of Galbally playground will be held in OB’s lounge, Kilross on May 4 at 8.30pm. Jackpot of €300 must go on the night. Your support wil be greatly appreciated.
