Cashel back to winning ways

Cashel 18 Greystones 16

Cashel 18 Greystones 16

The discipline that was shown by Cashel during the last 15 minutes of this match on Saturday afternoon was to be commended and noted as how not to lose a match which they should have comfortably won.

After a tight first half Cashel came out on fire in the second half running in two tries by Pat O’Connor and Ed Leamy and putting the Wicklow side completely on the back foot.

An intercept try however, from Greystones brought them back into the game but Cashel as mentioned closed out the match and came away with a much-needed win.

Their next outing is against Banbridge, away on the 17th November.

Cashel 3rd’s

Cashel 3rd’s has a comprehensive win over Dungarvan last Sunday. They are away Sunday 18th November against Waterford City. Training Friday nights.

Cashel 15’s took to the field and met a very strong Kilfeacle team. The team gave of their all and tried until the final whistle but size was against them. Well done to all for their efforts. Training 7.00 Friday

On Sunday morning, we played our third league match of the East Munster Competition. Another good outing for our boys winning 29 - 15 against Galbally. Try scorers were Patrick O’Dwyer, John Ryan (twice), Joshua O’Dwyer and Ryan O’Sullivan with two conversions by Niall O’Dwyer and Ryan O’Sullivan.

We had some handling errors in the opening quarter but this did improve as the game progressed. Our forwards played very well, rucking to a high standard and protecting the ball well. Niall O’Dwyer had a great game at full back with some fine fielding and tackling play. Tackling in general was high with Patrick O’Dywer, John Ryan and Tom Dowling executing the best tackle of the day. Jack Riordan almost scored from an excellent movement from a ruck.

Fearghail O’Donoghue impressed when clearing rucks but man of the match goes to Richie Lambe! Richie has blossomed over the last few years with serious potential for the future.

Well done to Paddy O’Dwyer from Clonoulty who took charge of this game, an excellent display of Refereeing. Well done also to Brendan O’Connor, Willie O’Dwyer and Donal Clancy, our coaches for doing an excellent job preparing this team.

On Sunday last, we had a blitz in Clonmel, which saw us play threetwenty minute games full of fun, enthusiasm and action!. Our kids should be very proud of their display. Try scorers on the day were Tom Tobin and Jaymes O’Sullivan. Christopher Geraghty performed highly in the forwards supported greatly by Tom Tobin.

Our front row of Ethan Malloy, Jaymes O’Sullivan and Sean O’Neill (the three amigos just missing their sombreros) some photograph that would be..., were very solid. Kevin Malloy, Martin-Paul O’Dwyer and Oisin O’Suilleabhain, all had moments of magic with fine all round play. Aiden Maher was like “Brian O’Driscoll” jinking, taking on opposition and passing. Well done Aiden and watch out Brian O’Driscoll! Kate Malloy had tackle of the match against Young Munster, Well done Kate! and the mighty Ryan twins from Rossmore had a stormer of a game. Well done to Cathal and Sean, two newcomers to the game but are thriving on it so far.

On behalf of Paul Murphy and Tony O’Sullivan, the coaches, thanks to all parents who supported on the day. To our Host club Clonmel compliments to all for a great morning especially Jonathon Duffy.
