Year of Faith

Are you interested in learning about the faith of the Catholic Church? Have you ever wondered what it is all about? Do you have children who ask, ”Why do we believe that”? Cardinal Seán Brady, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland recently said that the Catechism “offers us a unique opportunity to reacquaint ourselves with the power and beauty of our faith. May we all, during this Year of Faith, take the opportunity to gain a new understanding and renewal of that faith.”

If you would like that opportunity, Fr. Bartholomew Parys will give a series of open and free talks on “Faith and the Catechism” on Thursday nights from 8th November to 13th December from 8-9.30pm. he venue is the Central Technical Institute, The Mall, Clonmel. Join us at one or all of the talks - everyone is welcome, entry is free and there are no strings attached.

Each talk will be followed by discussion, an opportunity for questions and tea/coffee. Fr. Bartholomew Parys, S.V.D. is a Divine Word Missionary and is currently curate at Ss Peter and Paul’s Parish. He has organised the talks in association with the Legion of Mary and St. Mary’s Parish Pastoral Council, Irishtown.

For more information contact St. Mary’s Pastoral Centre, Irishtown, Clonmel, e-mail: or phone (052) 6122773. Pope Benedict reminds us that The Door of Faith, Porta Fidei, is always open for us.
