Unfortunately there was disappointment for both out Senior and Junior hurlers last weekend. On St. Patricks day, our Junior hurlers played their first match of the County Junior Hurling League against Cappawhite. The game took place in Killenaule with Cappawhite the winners by 2-15 to 0-13.

Last Sunday, our Senior Hurlers also played their first match of the County Senior Hurling League against Portroe. The game took place in Portroe with the North Tipperary team victorious on a 4-15 to 1-17 scoreline.

Congratulations to our Minor Footballers who defeated Ballingarry in the County Minor Football League which was also played on St. Patricks day.

Membership: As the deadline for membership is rapidly approaching, anybody who is yet to pay their membership must do so by March 31. Membership will not be accepted after this date and it can be given to Joe O’Dwyer.


A Coffee/tea morning will be held in St. Mary’s Hall on Friday, March 25, from 10am to 1pm. Sales Tables and Raffle. Table Quiz in Ardagh House, Killenaule on Friday, March 25, at 9.30pm. Auction and Raffle. Refreshments will be served on the night. Table of 4 costs €20. Please support Cancer Care. Proceeds of both events go to Daffodil Day.


March Meeting of Club members and friends was a very interesting night when two members of Cabra Wetlands, Tom and Michael, gave a talk on Birds in the Garden. Slides were shown of the different birds and the song of each bird was relayed. Competition for members to guess the sounds of four birds was won by Lena Slattery correct answer. Prize was a Nest box for birds.

Some Wildlife friendly trees, shrubs and plants suitable for birds was given in list handed to each member and suggested to set aside an unkempt wild area in your garden- vital for wildlife.

A church gate collection will be held in Killenaule and Moyglass churches on Saturday March 20 and Sunday March 27.
