U8’s played in a blitz in Clerihan last Sunday, May 13. They won two matches and drew one. U12F: Hard luck to our players who lost to Cappawhite in the semi-final of their group last Monday, May 7, in Dundrum.

U12B: Hard luck to our U12’s who were beaten by Aherlow in extra time last Thursday, May 9, in very inclement conditions. This was a nail biting game from start to finish. At half time the score was 0-5 to 2-2 in favour of Aherlow, so all to play for. At the full time whistle the score was 4-7 to 5-04. We got off to a good start in extra time with a great goal from Conor O’Brien however luck was not on our side and Aherlow went on to beat us by 2 goals. We wish them the best of luck in the semi-final. This was a tough hard physical game so well done to all the players and scorers, man of the match has to go to goal keeper Mark Ryan who played out of his skin. In the backs Kevin Ryan, Grainne Moloney, Conor O’Brien (1-0), Anna Downey, Jake Fitzgerald. In midfield Fergus English (0-1) and Karin Blair(0-1). In the forwards Harry Fitzgerald(0-1) Ciaran McKenna,(1-1), Christopher Lonergan (1-0), Erik Czerniak(1-2), Patrick Hickey (1-0) and John Marnane(0-1).

Hard luck to our U16 players who were beaten in the West Final by a very strong combination team of Emly and Sean Treacys last Friday night May 11 in Solohead. Rockwell got off to good start with the first score of the match with a Liam Fahey’s point within the first minute of the game but were outscored 4-4 to 0-5 in the first period. The other scorers were Diarmuid Barron and Owen Cleary with a point apiece to add to another brace from Liam Fahey. After 13 mins Owen Cleary added a pt to Rockwell Rovers tally to conclude the scoring.
