This year’s school championships will be held at Thurles Crokes today, Wednesday, October 3, a week later due to a clash with the Ploughing Championships. Twelve spirited and motivated boys have trained their hearts out in the past few weeks. They have developed a more economical style of running. They recorded their own time at every session on individual cards. After warm up exercises including a lot of stretching they ran a lap, then two laps and finally three laps of the G.A.A. pitch progressing each week towards their personal best.

“Already fit due to being involved in other sports I think the boys have a very good chance. Hopefully medals will be won but participation is the key,” according to their coach Catherine McMahon. The results will all be posted on the internet at Enjoy the challenge lads and have fun!
